“Pathway to Holiness”: a group for inquirers
Anyone interested in learning more about Benedictine spirituality is welcome to attend our inquirer’s program, “Pathway to Holiness”. These classes introduce you to the principles of Benedictine spirituality, which can be applied to anyone’s life.
The basic course consists of five monthly sessions, presented via Zoom, with each class lasting approximately 60 minutes. Instruction is based on the book, “A Blessed Life – Benedictine Guidelines for Those Who Long for Good Days.” Attendees are encouraged to get the book, but it is not required for participation.
Those wishing to join the Community (either as Oblates or Associates) must attend the first five sessions of the program. When done, you may apply to be admitted as a candidate for Oblation, an Associate member or take what you have learned and apply it however you feel best for your life situation as you continue your spiritual journey. Attending these sessions does not obligate you to join the Community in any capacity.
Anyone is welcome to come to our meetings, whether they choose to join us or not and there is no limit on the number of times you can come. If you do choose to become a member regular attendance is expected, but visitors may come and go as their schedule permits.
Applying for Membership
If, after completing the “Pathway to Holiness” sessions, you wish to become a member of the Community, you need to let the Director know and complete the appropriate application.
Oblate candidates must attend one additional Pathway session in preparation for Novitiate; upon completion, the candidate will be invested as a Novice at the next regular meeting or at the annual retreat, whichever comes first.
Associate members will be received through a brief ceremony at the next regular meeting or at the annual retreat, whichever comes first.
Formation may seem overwhelming at first, but you are not expected to remember everything—conversion of life is a process, and this is just the beginning. You will have plenty of time to learn how to incorporate everything into your daily routine should you choose to join the Community as an Associate or Oblate.
